MUSIC: MIDDLE AGES

1) What period does the Middle Ages cover?
It goes from the 5th Century to the 15th Century.
2) What general characteristics does it have (according to the teacher’s comments)?
People sang in the streets, and they sang in cathedrals too, like the gregorian              chants, and there are different social classes: some people had privileges, but              other people not.
3) What is the main difference between “troubadours” and “minstrels”?
Minstrels travelled to win food or money, they offered their street shows in public places.
Troubadours ,were medieval musicians and poets, who composed their works and                  interpreted them.
4) Pay attention to these two monuments (a Romanic church and a Gothic cathedral).      What do their different heights have in common with the music evolution of those        centuries?
In the Romanic church, they sang highed-pitched songs, and in the Gothic                    cathedral they sang low-pitched songs.
5) What do you feel looking at these pictures (taken from the 19th century but                  directly linked to the Middle Ages)? In your own opinion, what kind of music could      accompany these images?
    It transmits me sadness.
6) Why does Heavy Metal music love this aesthetic?
Because we can say the heavy metal music is agressive, like dragons and knights,      and the rhythm of heavy metal songs is very ''strong''.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT: P.E. PART馃崕馃崕

THIS IS MY DIET OF ONE ENTIRE DAY:
BREAKFAST:
I had milk with chocolate and cookies for breakfast.
MID-MORNING
I ate a ham sandwich in the school break.
LUNCH:
I ate rice with mushrooms(rissotto).
SNACK:
I ate a banana and a nocilla sandwich.
DINNER:
I had an omelet with chorizo for dinner.
CONCLUSION: I think this meal for a day is good; maybe I could include some fish like cod or meat like chicken in the lunch or in the dinner, because there aren´t so many proteins. I could include more fruit and vegetables because they have a lot of vitamins, and this diet needs vitamins, but I think it´s OK. I could add one piece in the breakfast (or some type of juice), other in the lunch and other in the dinner, so it could be a better diet. maybe I could change the nocilla sandwich in the snack for another healthier food.

MUSIC: PROJECT I

SONG:
How many times must your family lie
before you learn the true
How many wars must a soldier resist
before he lives his job
How many cokes can a man drink
before he have diabetes

How many games must students play
before the teacher comes
How many leaves can a tree drop down
before the autumn comes
How many days can we feel sad
before the war has come

- I prefer the last because I like the rhythm and the way he expresses his feelings when he is singing.
- Bob Dylan is a musician, songwriter, singer and American poet, considered as one of the most important figures in the popular music of the twentieth century.
- The 1960's was a time of changes in society, fashion, attitudes and especially music. The 60s were marked by many events like " The Cold War", " Vietnam War", John F. Kennedy becomes a new president of the United States and many events more happened. There was a lot of racism and women didn't have rights.

WOMEN IN SPORT: CANDICE WIGGINS

Candice Wiggins was a WNBA player, and she confessed in an interview that she was harassed during her eight years in the WNBA for being heterosexual, a situation that caused his early retirement, because  "98% of the players of the WNBA are lesbians ".
"People were trying to hurt me deliberately " she said. I was never insulted more in my life than in my rookie year. The message was, ' We want you to know that we don't like you. '
Resultado de imagen de candice wiggins She confesses that she wanted to continue playing in the league, but that she had to leave for her "depressive" state. "I had a strong depression. It was very hard. I didn't like the culture of WNBA, they had annihilated our values. It was very toxic to me and I was breaking the spirit. " "Many people think that in that league you have to look like a man, play as a man to get respect. I thought otherwise. I was proud to be a woman, and that's why I didn't fit into that culture".
