ARTS PROJECT: DOTS

Pointillism is the name given to a painting movement, developed in the 19th century. Its main characteristic is the use of interrupted points and strokes for the creation of beautiful works.
Pointillists apply points of pure tonalities on the surfaces. This allowed them to develop different chromatic games, since it is the eye of the observer that creates the combination.
It´s important to establish that in works done by pointillists the colours are pure, they never mix. Moreover, they´re the eyes of those who see them that make the spectator perceive them united. Some famous pointillists are Paul Signac, Vincent Van Gogh...
